Google is getting to be spooky

My little brother is getting to be quite the paranoid hacker. Marcus figured Google was up to something fishy with its Google Maps Street View feature. Y’know what that is right? Google sent out a bunch of undercover spooks in vans with cameras and photographed all the streets in some cities (like San Francisco). The photos are part of the maps, so you find a spot on the map and then click to see photos of the street. Here’s the Ludlow house.

He is soooo paranoid!!! How can Google’s engineers figure out how to get more detail than what the normal Google Maps user sees? Us normals can only zoom down so far, but Marcus says that if you have Spy Spook privileges you can go down to room level. Watch this video that a couple guys did to see what I mean:

Back to Marcus. He somehow got access to the source code, something about using a wider range of NSA firewall configs. He admitted he was using Google Maps Streetview to look in on Paris Hilton’s Manhattan penthouse. (I’m surprised. He still claims girls are gross, but I know better!) He got caught and so now he’s in trouble with Mom and Dad, Google AND the NSA!

This has got me all paranoid now. Who’s spying on me with the top-secret version of Google Maps?! I’m keeping my window shades closed from now on. I need to keep more clothes on!!
